It has been over a year in the making, but the Georgie Wonders Orchestra took its place in Big Band musical history in March 2003.  The event was a great success and the orchestra is now booking dates for this coming year. 

Georgie Wonders has been a professional musician since 1953.  He started his career in combos such as Valentino's, The Act III, and performed rock and roll with The Bits and Pieces for 25 years.  Georgie never gave up his life-long dream of playing the music of his idols from the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's, Glenn Miller, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Bunny Berrigan and others.  The dream has now become reality.

The Georgie Wonders Orchestra is unique in its diversity.  Many of our musicians, some of whom have been associated with Georgie for over 30 years, play in their own bands or combos.  We are especially proud to be associated with The Pipe Kings, a well-known rock and roll band in the Capital District, who perform with our orchestra.  The uniqueness of our orchestra enables us to fit into any musical venue with our "bands within a band".
